Famous French DJ Bob Sinclar is opening his first club in South Beach the club will be called Amnesia and it is schedules to open mid October. Amnesia will be in the same spot as a fomer club in South Beach called Opium Garden used to be. The space is being fully renovated and will have an incredible sound system. Part of the renovation also includes putting a roof on the club which club Opium Garden didn’t have. The roof will make the sound system all the better and also keep the sleeping neighbors happy with no to much noise. Club Amnesia will be a very big club and will be a welcome hot party spot for all the high energy dance mega club lovers.

Art Deco Weekend on Ocean Drive is a very popular weekend in South Beach. The event started back in 1976 when the Miami Design preservation league founded the festival and it has been going strong ever since attracting thousands of locals and tourist. Ocean Drive is a two way street which runs from 1st street to 14th steet and is normally full of cars cruising up and down the street day and night. For the Art Deco Weekend Miami Beach closes Ocean Drive to all cars and it becomes a big walking street full of people and booths of all sizes with amazing art and crafts and all types of great food. The festival has many events, live concerts, activities and tours of the Miami Beach Art Deco District. The festivities go day and night and if you have kids they will have plenty to see and do. The Art Deco Weekend centers on the Art Deco arts and culture and is a three day event that has something for everyone.

The ninth annual Italian Film Festival is set to open on October 6, 2011 with director Paolo Genovese opening the event with his new award winning comedy Immaturi. The newly renovated very chic Hotel Breakwater has opened on Ocean Drive. The hotel is right across the street from the ocean and has 100 rooms, suites and a very cool penthouse. The hotel also has a very trendy restaurant called Nine which serves Italian food including pizzas and pastas along with seafood, poultry and meat dishes. Cafenia located in Downtown Miami’s Wynwood Art District had an VIP cocktail reception event featuring photographer Jordan Michael Zuniga where he unveiled his provocative new portraits for PETA. The series Women In Cages presented portraits of Miami’s well know women in tiny cages wearing nothing but their birthday suits. The women in the portraits are Brooke Hogan, Ivette Naranjo, Katrina Campins, Pachi Lake, Tara Solomon, Michelle Pooch, Tracy Mourning, Ines Rivero, Elaine Lancaster and Heather Davis. The proceeds from the sales of the photographs are donated directly to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The series is part of PETA’s I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur campaign and raises awareness about cruelty to animals.
The exhibition is on display at Cafeina from August 12 through September 10, 2011.
